
James Barton, set up Cream, based at the Nation venue in Liverpool’s Wolstenholme Square, and has gone on to be one of the best-known figures on the dance music landscape.
Barton, a 20-year veteran of the dance music game founded Cream in October 1992 alongside Darren Hughes and Andy Carroll.
For 10 years, Cream hosted its weekly house music night at Nation until June 2002 playing host to international DJ superstars including Paul Oakenfold (who was resident from 1997-98), Paul van Dyk, Sasha and Andy Weatherall.
